At the simplest, making a hooded scarf consists of three steps. Making two rectangles, folding them in half, and sewing them together. The one pictured I added a liner by doing two hoodies, one smaller than the other to give it a bit more warmth for an Alaskan winter.
Materials
If you want this w/o the liner, a single skein of Homespun Thick and Quick is all that you need along with a 11.5mm hook. The liner was made with one skein of Bernat Pipsqueak and 8mm hook.
Stitch
Any stitch works for this pattern. Because I was using bulky yarn where the stitch was hard to see, I did a double crochet stitch for all of the rectangles, working underneath each stitch in the big hole between the DC’s.

Chain 12. Skip the first two chains and DC 10 across. Ch 2. Turn. * Repeat for 31 rows.

Chain 31 + 2, Skip the first two chains and DC 31 across. Ch 2. Turn. * Repeat for 7 rows.
White Liner (Optional)
Chain 12 + 2, Skip the first two chains and DC 12 across. Ch 2. Turn. * Repeat for 25 rows.
Really any stitch will work, you just need rectangles!
